Creating peace outside with #dwelloctoberstudio at this church to condo revival

Spring is in the air, which means we are thinking ahead to refreshing outdoor spaces in anticipation of the weather warming up. We're in the midst of the planning stages of a new #dwelloctoberstudio project, a church to condo revival and are excited to update the balcony space with products from Lowe's. The balcony at this condo is a private, peaceful space in the heart of busy downtown Salem, Massachusetts. Right now, the balcony is underutilized, but it has the potential to offer additional living and dining space during the warmer months.
As this unit is a condo, we aren't able to change the exterior, so our plan is to update the space with new furniture and plants. First, we'll add a striped outdoor rug to create a foundation for the furniture. Next, we'll bring in a black metal bistro set with a sleek curved silhouette. This will serve as the perfect spot for morning coffee or even working outside in the sunshine.
One of our goals is to introduce some greenery into the space, which we plan to do in two ways. First, we'll mount planters to the railings, which will be perfect for growing herbs, succulents, and flowers. Next, we'll use stone-look fiber cement planters for ornamental trees. These planters look like stone, but are lightweight and perfect for a balcony.
To finish off the space, we'll add outdoor pillows and decorative lanterns for ambience. We know these small, approachable changes will lead to a dramatic improvement in the underused, tired outdoor space that is in need of a refresh. Stay tuned to see the transformation!
