The #dwelloctoberstudio church to condo revival kitchen close up
Now that we've shared our appliance selections for the kitchen renovation at the #dwelloctoberstudio church to condo revival project, we're taking a deeper dive into the rest of the finishes used in the kitchen. As this entire project was inspired by a Parisian apartment, we opted for a moody color scheme in the kitchen, painting the walls, trim, and ceiling a dusty shade of blue, paired with rich burgundy cabinets.

The kitchen footprint was limited, so we kept the same cabinet layout, but updated it with new Ikea boxes combined with beautiful curved cabinet fronts from Fronteriors. To make the kitchen feel more luxurious, we used a boldly veined quartz for both the counters and the backsplash, opting for a full-slab backsplash with a ledge above the sink. This beautiful quartz offers the look of marble at a fraction of the price.

For an added touch of glam, we used organically-shaped gold cabinet hardware, a loop handle faucet, and an undermount sink, all in brushed gold, plus a gorgeous curved neck sconce in brass. To balance out the gold and brass fixtures, we opted for modern stainless steel appliances. A wood panel hides the dishwasher and makes the run of cabinetry feel more continuous.

Although this kitchen looks small, there was enough room for a bistro table and chairs by the stairs, as well as a free-standing marble island that offers additional storage and workspace.

Don't be afraid to go bold when working with a small space—this kitchen proves that you can make a dramatic impact, even with limited square footage.
