Located off the main hallway, the guest bathroom at the #preppyhollowhouse was an interior bathroom, meaning that it had no windows and therefore, no natural light. As a result, we aimed to create a bold and bright design full of color in order to give the space a playful personality.

The most dramatic transformation at the #preppyhollowhouse involved removing the wall between the kitchen and living room to create one large open-concept space. The ceiling in the adjacent living room was already vaulted, so we decided to remove the wall between the two rooms and vault the ceiling in the kitchen to create symmetry and make the space feel larger.

The original living room at the #preppyhollowhouse had a lot of great features to work with: vaulted ceilings, double windows, and a fireplace; however, there was a wall between the living room and kitchen that made the room feel closed off, and the finishes were in need of serious updating. To remedy this, we removed the wall between the two spaces, allowing light to stream in from both the front and back of the house, and creating a more open floor plan perfect for entertaining.

Welcome to our most recent renovation project; the #preppyhollowhouse. Located in Falmouth, Massachusetts, a quaint town on Cape Cod, this three bedroom, two bathroom ranch-style house was built in the 1990s, but in need of a serious refresh. Our goal with this property was to renovate and operate it as a short-term vacation rental through #dwelloctoberstay.
